A 29-year-old man was shot on the 6800 block of North Sheridan Road early Sunday morning, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

The man was approached by two males while he was standing on the sidewalk and was shot multiple times in the abdomen at 4:39 a.m. Sept. 24, according to an email from CPD News Affairs Officer Nicole Trainor.

The men were wearing gray hoodies and were approximately 20 years old, according to Trainor. She said the incident appeared to be gang-related.

The victim was sent from the scene to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition, CPD News Affairs Officer Brandi Wright said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no one was in custody for the shooting, according to Trainor.

Loyola Campus Safety Sgt. Bill Schnoor said those involved in the shooting were not affiliated with Loyola.
